Yesterday, another Covid-19 HOME rapid antigen test, BinaxNOW, was given emergency use authorization (EUA) by the FDA. You do the test and have the result in 15 minutes. The cost will be $25. The exact date of availability is unclear, but Abbott has been preparing for accelerated production and it may be available to the consumer in January.
Another Covid-19 antigen test was give EUA November 17th, Lucira Health’s “All-in-One” home test kit. It may require a doctor’s order and scale-up for retail sale is preventing early distribution of this product. Stay tuned for its availability.
